What the scene or the claim says

A press set-visit report (Blavity) says the show's creator Terry Matalas and director Christopher J. Byrne described Vision's "mind space", a house that exists only in his head and is full of AI personas, as a theatrical stand-in for how a quantum computer processes information. That wording is the reporter's paraphrase, not a direct quote, so this card judges the show's framing at second hand. Nothing has aired yet.

What is real

A quantum computer does not hold rooms of characters that each explore a different thought. It holds a register of qubits whose joint state carries an amplitude for every possible bit string. An algorithm then steers those amplitudes so wrong answers cancel and right ones add up. Nothing inside is talking. Reading the register out collapses it to one ordinary answer.

What stops it working that way

If you wanted it to work

A theatre metaphor is fair if you read each room as one branch of a computation that later interferes with the others. If a future machine ran a mind-like model that way, the hard part would still be the readout: one run gives one branch's worth of answer. The interesting version would be a task where interference between branches does the reasoning. No one has proposed one for cognition, so treat this as a thought experiment.
